Every good manager knows the necessity and value of planning. Good plans are critical to good results whether you are planning a vacation or planning a season. So why do so few of us plan our own careers?
A Personal Career Plan is essential for professionals looking for a satisfying and progressive career in the arts and culture sector. A Personal Career Plan is a practical tool for optimizing individual career opportunities and for building a happy productive team, both today and for the future.
During this one-day workshop, participants will create a Personal Career Plan that will help to:
- Build strength, confidence, and creativity by identifying core competencies they want and need
- Set personal goals in professional development and provide the means to achieve those goals
Building on the key concepts of Continuous Professional Development, which is defined as the ongoing and purposeful improvement of professional competence throughout a person’s working life, Personal Career Planning helps an individual seek out and focus their professional development opportunities for maximum benefit.
A Personal Career Plan is a commitment to being professional, keeping up to date in your field, and to continuously seeking to improve.
Whether you are looking to enhance your career path, for professional development to enrich your current responsibilities, or to provide your team with valuable learning opportunity, a Personal Career Plan will help.“I valued the process immensely – it was amazing to be able to spend the day thinking about my current circumstances and future goals/wishes/visions etc. and to talk to someone who was in a similar place in their career. It was a luxury and an invaluable experience for someone in our at-times fast-paced field. I also valued meeting folks that are in the same stage of their career as myself.”
